Multiclassifier for diagnosing childhood hypertension by combining genetic algorithms with diversity measures

Cardiovascular disease mortality is currently on the rise worldwide. High blood pressure is known to significantly increase the risk of developing cardiovascular conditions, making the early diagnosis of hypertension a critical healthcare challenge. This paper presents a multiclassifier system for diagnosing hypertension in children aged 10 to 12 years. A genetic algorithm based metaheuristic is employed to combine the outputs of 18 base classifiers using 13 diversity measures, with the aim of constructing an effective ensemble classifier. The proposed multiclassifier achieves higher accuracy than the individual classifiers.
